Background & Job Description
The United Nations Foundation is recruiting a Part-Time Intern to join the U.S. Climate Alliance Secretariat. This fully remote role is open to applicants located within the continental United States.
The internship provides direct exposure to U.S. state-level climate action, including efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and implement federal climate programs. Interns will support research, draft policy briefings, monitor federal policy developments, and help coordinate activities across states and partner organizations.
Tasks
Selected interns will:

Prepare materials for major Alliance meetings and workshops.

Conduct research on state-level implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act, identifying trends and challenges.

Track federal climate policies, funding opportunities, and contribute to weekly and quarterly newsletters.

Support policy development, peer-to-peer learning, and coalition coordination.

Provide additional administrative and program support as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Certification

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
Experience & Skills

Strong research, writing, and communication skills.

Interest in state climate policy, coalition building, and federal climate policy.

Ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.

Highly motivated, flexible, collaborative, and detail-oriented.

Fluency in English is required.
